Berlin DJ Sascha Braemer shares a dizzying remix of Jasper Sommer’s ‘Memento’

Berlin DJ and producer Sascha Braemer has released his remix of UK producer Jasper Sommer’s track ‘Memento’ on August 9, 2024, through EFG Records. A prominent figure in the German electronic music scene, Braemer is celebrated for his dynamic blend of deep house, tech house, and techno. Since the early 2000s, his performances at leading clubs and festivals, along with features in Mixmag, Resident Advisor, DJ Mag, and XLR8R, have earned him global recognition. His work with labels like Katermukke and Stil vor Talent, combined with his immersive live sets, has firmly established his reputation in the electronic music world.

The original track ‘Memento’ is part of Jasper Sommer’s innovative EP released earlier this year via EFG Records. Sommer’s music, lauded by Mixmag, COMPLEX UK, Clash Magazine, Notion, and Earmilk, draws comparisons to Four Tet and James Blake. The track combines a captivating hook with Sommer’s signature moody sound, featuring smoky vocals that delve into themes of alienation, destiny, attachment, loneliness, and happiness.

In his remix, Braemer has reimagined Sommer’s introspective track into a pulsating club anthem. With a deep house four-on-the-floor beat and a hypnotically looped haunting hook, Braemer’s version offers a progressive, immersive experience ideal for clubs and festivals. Fans of Oliver Koletzki, Dominik Eulberg, and Extrawelt will find much to appreciate in this electrifying reinterpretation.
