Tokyo-based producer Chizawa Q gears up to release new single ‘Beluga’ via R&S Recordings

Japanese electronic music producer and artist Chizawa Q makes his highly anticipated return to the music industry on October 4th, with the release of his transcendental single ‘Beluga’ featuring Masaki Sakamoto. The track serves as a teaser for his upcoming album Xenoverse set for release on 22 November via the renowned R&S Recordings label.

‘Beluga’ is a triumphant offering from the Tokyo-based musician who took a hiatus from solo work for sometime to focus on other ventures. During his hiatus, Chizawa Q contributed to soundtracks for video games like PAC-MAN and Star Wars:VISIONS. He also collaborated with techno stalwarts KEN ISHII and Jeff Mills, while also working with internationally renowned anime composer Yoko Kanno.

Pre-save: Chizawa Q – Xenoverse

‘Beluga’ decimates the boundaries of techno and electronic music with its distinct blend of sumptuous jazz and Detroit-inspired techno soundscapes. It’s daring, extravagant and beautifully cinematic while managing to evoke wonder and emotion in the listener. It features groovy loops, jazzy punches and an unshakable rhythm, with Chizawa Q taking inspiration from Detroit Techno legends like Underground Resistance, as well as jazz techno luminaries Dave Angel and Steve Rachmad. If ‘Beluga’ is anything to go by, Xenoverse will undoubtedly break new ground for Chizawa Q.
