London house maestro Bruise returns with brand new single ‘The Dassy Slide’ out via Foundation Music, 2nd Dec.

Hot on the heels of big room horn-ucopia ‘Brass Tacks’- the lead single from forthcoming ten-tracker ‘EP2’- ‘The Dassy Slide’ is the latest offering from acclaimed house producer Christian Campbell (Sona Vabos)  aka Bruise.

Once described by Terry Farley as ‘Rotary Connection meets Mad Mike’, Bruise began life as a production collective whose alumni include Darren House aka Diesel (Xpress-2) with Campbell at the helm, garnering tastemaker support from everyone from Annie Mac, Pete Tong and Gilles Peterson to Arlo Parks since arriving on Foundation Music in 2020.

With a signature sound reflective of vast dance music knowledge, Bruise embraces a spectrum of house and techno influences from joyful euphoria to dark, driving heaters. And ‘The Dassy Slide’ does not disappoint a basement-ready early night affair: warm, deep and groove-laden, with an infectious vocal sample and 2-step inspired beats punctuated by mellow saxes that call to mind 90s NY garage.

‘The Dassy Slide’ showcases Bruise’s superfluous knack for creating an absorbing dancefloor moment whether it’s warm-up, or in ‘Brass Tack’s’ case, peak time. An expert range that is set to reveal itself further over the course of future record bag essential ‘EP2’.

Bruise says:

“The bare bones of Dassy came from a jam session I had shortly after buying an MPC One. I was just playing around and this groove started to build that felt super infectious. I imported the track into Ableton, made some tweaks and added some chopped up silky vocal samples and the track was finished. I love the rawness of Dassy and how it’s got an old school hip hop feel, yet it’s also got house flavour but with a sort of 2 step beat”
